Post diction - A Basic Poker Error

by Aeolus Jirou

Prediction is one familiar word we often hear everyday. Personages like Nostradamus, Cayce are related to this word in the eyes of both intellectuals and ordinary individuals. But there is an opposite of this word which is called post diction which is not an everyday word unlike its popular counterpart. However, post diction is as prevalent in the society as prediction is, though we might never know it.

Post diction means to pick up a situation that already pass and then place a bias perception into it. Actually, this is common in sports as being a Monday Morning Quarterback, which you can see as the popular line: “How could he leave Pedro Martinez in for the 8th inning?!?!?!?!”
