8 Poker Winning Tactics

by Amanda Scott

While all of us who play poker appreciate luck and wish we could somehow trap luck and use it sparingly when ever needed, good players think of luck as their enemy. They believe that the greater the luck, the greater the losses are. For, for them luck is nothing but hard work and deliberate planning. They also think that people get lucky because they try to get lucky.

Notice how bad players are always trying hard to get lucky and they do, because of that. There are millions of ways through which bad players can get lucky and yet they think that good players have got all the luck on their side. This is so not true. What bad players think is a good players luck is actually correct mathematical actions applied in any given situation. Good players only wish hard for luck in a flop because they want an AJ9.

A Look At The Advantages Of Rakeback

by Thomas Kearns

Many people play poker on-line for several hours a day. These individuals are paying a fee, or rake, or each pot that they play. Individuals playing multiple tables or playing several games a day will find that the benefits of registering with a rakeback plan gives them an opportunity to make money while they play.

On-line poker sites calculate the rake for each pot in a game. This amount usually is 5% of the pot and caps out at $3 per pot. But, if a person plays many pots each day this fee can quickly add up. The fees can “rake” up fast. This is where the term “rakeback” came from.

The calculations for a rake are different for on-line poker websites. Some calculate the rake on the pot and number of players at a table. Other sites make the rake calculation based on the pot and the number of people actually playing for a pot. Research has shown that the websites make about the same amount of rake with either calculation method.
