Poker Professional Go Commando For A Cause

Thuy Doan proprietor of the poker news blog called is on a life trial right now. She’s suffering cancer and the poker community extend their support to this young woman by going commando. Some of the known names in the poker world have gone bald in order to express their feeling of compassion to Thuy.

She is born in Vietnam and migrated to the US after the war when she’s still a child with her family. Thuy Doan worked hard to finish college in order for her to help her family live a better life. She just finished here undergraduate degree and at the same time she played poker as a professional player.

During September, she announced on PokerRead that she has cancer and post a blog entitled “Yup, I’m Gonna Go Bald.” Many friends and colleagues have been touch by her condition and decided to help her anyway they can.

Poker Legend Stu Ungar Remembered

Stu Ungar didn’t have much going for him in most areas of life. In fact, it could very well be argued that he was downright inept in most areas of existence. He also had a self destructive streak that manifest itself in heavy drug use and other behaviors. Ungar, however, had one great gift–he was a prodigy with a deck of cards. He would become one of the first superstars of poker before it became a fixture on ESPN, but wouldn’t live to enjoy the ‘boom’. Ungar would eventually be done in by his baser elements, and would be found dead in a Las Vegas hotel room in November,’88.
