Dealing With Tilt

When playing poker you need to avoid to play tilt. This is because you cannot be a good decision make if you let your emotions control your mind. Before a full blown tilt there are early stages on tilt that an individual should be aware of. The earliest stage is the most harmless of all. You’re only a bit distracted and this is due occurrences in the game like: standing up to an overly aggressive player who plays nearly every pot but encountering a big hand or having an all-in showdown with a strongly superior hand pre-flop and losing. But you can still play on because your still thinking right but it is strongly recommended to stop at this earliest stage.
Stage 1 is the bridge to stage 2 tilt. Its only a close gap. So better settle down the issue on the first stage ASAP. At stage 1 you are still you, only a little bit distracted but you still have the power to stop yourself from doing craziness when you are in a full blown tilt.
But if you’re unlucky enough not to break free at stage 1 and you’re now playing wildly like making overconfident bets during pre-flop, doing stupid bluffs, betting all in when your card is poor then you are on tilt. At this situation you’ll be feeling a lot of emotions such as hopelessness, dejection, vindictiveness and it goes worst by the minute. These emotions will lead you into steam, and the more you steam the more you lose yourself from the game which will cause another round of steam and will make you a worst player if not stopped. Its like going into a roller coaster ride which will get dizzier and dizzier if not stopped.
At this level, you’ll encounter an odd feeling wherein you wanted to stop but simply can’t. If you didn’t try to force yourself out of that mess you’ll be directly carried on to the last stage of tilt which is the most dangerous of all - Life-tilt. You’ll become so irritable on this kind of tilt that will make things worst for you. If you won’t stop, you’ll lose a lot of money and more because of this tilt.
What’s the best thing that you should do? We can’t stop emotions setting in into our lives. The best prevention you will have is to know the earliest symptoms of tilt when you can still handle yourself to stopped playing. Because at the fullest level of tilt you won’t be identifying anything anymore because you’re overwhelm by emotions which will distract you full time.
One prevention you can also take is not to bring all your money with you when you decided to play. This is to stop you from doing stupid decisions like betting all your money when you feel lucky.
You cannot stop bad cards coming into your hand. You just need to deal with it. Practice discipline. Don’t blame anyone especially yourself if you got a bad hand. Just move on and don’t get too affected. Its part of the game.
Just take this in mind. Losing occasionally is better than losing all you have in a one time and stupid bet.
