Now we’re ready for the decisive development that ultimately led to the poker explosion. When Chris Moneymaker wins the 2003 WSOP Main Event, poker takes off. Getting into the Main Event from a $40 online satellite event, then winning pokers most coveted tournament, sets off this unique boom.
