The 4 Methods Used TO Cheat Casinos
Posted by at Feb 24th, 2009 in Gambling
Here’s a fact that I am sure you know - Casinos don’t like cheaters very much, they are more than willing to make a cheater’s life miserable if they find you trying to take their money by cheating.
When it comes to fraud or felony charges, you will only get into real trouble if you use and electronic aid or a similar device to try and cheat and steal money from casinos.
Card counting is not considered a crime, and it’s left up to the casino whether or not to ban such a talented person. Rest assured, most casinos will not allow it and may make it seem like a greater offense than it is.
Because casinos security guards are so vengeful, cheating is not recommended. However, you did ask so here are four tips on casino cheating.
1. Card Counting in Blackjack There is a classic method known as ‘hi-lo’ and it works like this - WHen the cards are shuffled and dealt the player starts at 0. For every ace, 10 or face card that is dealt you take 1 point away from the total. For every 2-6 that is dealt you add a point to the total. Cards that are 7, 8 or 9 are zero points. Before each hand divide your count by the number of decks that are left. The time to bet is when you get a total of +2. Word of warning, try not to move your lips as you count the cards or the casinos may catch onto the fact that you are counting cards!
2. Poker - Making your mark poker is quite an easy game to rig as you are playing against human opponents as opposed to playing against the house (or casino). Cheating at poker is often achieved by ‘marking’ the cards. Cards are marked in a variety of different ways. Players may subtly bend certain cards or score the back of the card with a fingernail. The mark is not always visible to the naked eye. The cheater may use special contact lenses or glasses in order to see the mark effectively.
3.Craps - Dicing with the dice! In order to cheat at craps the player would ideally have to slip altered dice into the game. The dice corners may be rounded slightly or weighted in a certain way to increase the chances of landing on a higher number. Another way to try and ensure a winning dice roll is to place the dice in the palm of your hand so that the number you desire is facing upwards. You then move your hand so that the dice remain in this position or land flat. This move takes quite a bit of practice, but you can bet your bottom dollar that casinos are aware of this technique and are on the look out for it. You have been warned!
4.Slots - Outsmarting the Machines Slots technology is improving all the time but some of the older machines are susceptible to the ‘fake quarter’ method of cheating. Basically you need to find a substitute for the quarters provided by the casino, these substitutes should be the same weight size and density as the real thing in order to be sure of cheating the slots. Another tried and tested method is the ‘quarter on a string’ trick where a cheater deposits the quarter into the machine and then quickly takes it out with the string but fooling the slot machine into thinking that they have placed a bet.
