Thoroughbred Racing Is Exciting
Posted by at Feb 23rd, 2009 in Gambling
People have made betting on them into more or less a hobby. The feel of the track alone will have you coming back for more even if you never bet a dime. But, why not love the track, love the horses and have a chance at the bucks, too? Trying your hand at horse racing may not be as hard as you think!
At the track, you don’t pull the level and hope, you stay attracted to the track, hardly missing a race, and you keep up with every horse. Eventually, you’ll find yourself at an Off Track Betting establishment, betting on that favorite horse you’ve been keeping an eye on.
After a few times of going to a horse race, the next thing you know you will be off at some Off Track Betting establishment, hanging out with ll your new friends who are having the same amount of fun as you are at the track.
Betting on a horse race is going to be one of those things that you know you really shouldn’t do. You think maybe you should save your money for other things. But, what’s life worth if you don’t take a few risks? Have a little fun?
One thing you’ll need to realize is that betting on horse racing is unlike any other kinds of betting. Betting on a horse takes a lot of time and observation. You won’t be able to make a certain equation and use that same method every time to win. This isn’t like the Vegas casinos. These are live and breathing creatures who may at any time suffer an injury or some other sort of problem that may keep them from performing their best. Don’t forget that the jockey is only human and can have the same kinds of things happen to him.
Just like sitting home with a can of your favorite beverage and watching the football game is not nearly as exciting as being in a seat at the stadium smelling the hot dogs and beer and the other things that go along with it. You actually NEED the experience of physically being at the track to fully appreciate the feeling.
Something about the screaming and yelling above the other people there after you have cautiously read over the names and stats of the ponies and the jockeys and mulled over the statistics and the odds and walking to the window and counting out the money and making the decision of win show or place and then watching your hopes and dreams circle the dusty track in hopes of making you a winner.
If you decide to try your hand at betting on horse racing, take your time getting into it and bet responsibly. Don’t bet your life savings away! Bet to make a little back and enjoy the race. Nothing in the world compares to the feel at a track. The smell of the horses, the sound of the crowds, and the hub bub of all the excitement makes it worth going.
